The Adjudication Construction Dispute Process
We recognise that any form of dispute can be incredibly stressful, which is why we keep our processes as straightforward as possible. When opting for our adjudication construction dispute service, you can expect the following key steps:
-
Written Notice
To begin the adjudication process, the party referring the dispute must give formal written notice. This should include a case description with details such as where and when the dispute occurred.
-
Enlist An Adjudicator
Following the written notice, an application is made to the nominating body to appoint an adjudicator. There are then 7 days from the date of the notice of adjudication to submit the referral notice, including evidence reports, statements, etc. The adjudicator will set the timetable for submission based on the documents.
-
Decision Is Made
The adjudicator has 28 days from the referral notice to make a decision, but this can be extended by 14 days if both parties agree. Decisions are final and binding unless reviewed in arbitration or litigation.
